A thing that would divide them didn't exist.

They moved around (as) one (person).

Mûep leng goeme.

They ate food (as) one (person).

Mûep s'oe s'oe goeme.

They lay (as) one (person).

Mûep t'oerep goeme.

All the things that they would do, indeed, on this existing earth, they did them together.

Bi goet'ong shin mûep dip dai / k'a yil nd'ennoehoe / mûep shin ni goeshak.

Okay, he, Nuhu, he had a ring at his hand that his father had given him, because his father was a wealthy man (lit. a man who got many things).

To / ni Nuhu / ni goe / ndoe / ngoegan / ns'a muk / pe nda muk poe ni / nyegoepe nda muk a gurum goekat bi sosai.

His father, uh, bought the ring (and) gave (it to) him.

Nda muk / uh / s'eet ngoegan poe ni.

The ring was of silver like this, (it) shone.

Ngoegan mmuk azurfa poenoehoe / myalap.

You see, right?

Goe na mu?

Okay, Bawa, this his existing friend, when (he) saw this existing ring, but he became very sad ...

To / Bawa / goesha muk nd'ennoehoe / pe na / ngoegan nd'ennoehoe / amma k'yak muk dam p'uur...

... everytime when (he) saw the thing that was at his hand, the ring that was at his hand, uh, (of) this existing Nuhu.

(He) said, ah, how would he do so that he seizes this existing thing?

Yi a'a / t'ong ji shin a nd'ang de ji b'aam bi nd'ennoehoe yi a?

(He) said, the thing would do how so that that (it) gets lost from the hand of this existing friend?

Yin bi hok t'ong shin a nd'ang de paap yi ns'a mûai nd'ennoehoe a?

He became sad, because this made him jealous about the thing, the thing that was at the hand of this existing friend.

K'yak muk dam / nyepe goesek poe ni koor k'a bi goehok yi / bi goed'e ns'a mûai nd'ennoehoe.

(It) just hurt very much in his body.

La nsek muk p'uur kûût.

Then (he) just thought in his heart the thing that he would do, (he) said, how would he do (it) so that he seizes this existing thing?

Sai / rang kûût nk'yak muk bi goet'ong shin muk / yin / t'ong ji shin a nd'ang de ji b'aam bi nd'ennoehoe yi a?

How (would) he do, so that he sees the place where this existing friend sleeps, so that he takes this existing thing (and) hides (it) some place, so that everybody should (be able to) relax themselves.

Ji shin nd'ang de ji / n-- / na / pe goet'o mûai nd'ennoehoe yi / de ji mang bi nd'ennoehoe yi ji s'ok ndoe pe / de ko-wuroe goe nyak sek muk yi.

Because he doesn't have it.

Nyepe ji nni ba.

(Then) someday, they just sat there (and) would, uh, talk a little story, they said, mh, then:

T'at ndoe b'it / kûût mûep t'wot d'i t'ong / uh / k'wal la aram mûep yi me / sai:

And (it is) a journey (to a) far away (place).

Hen t'ong wa d'at ba.

I will leave you.

Hen t'ong nyet goe.

You (are) my friend, I will go on to think of you everytime.

Goe goesha noe / hen t'ong lang rang nye goe yi ko-lokashi goenang.

Nuhu said, surprise.

Nuhu yi a'a.

Bawa, so he will go (for) a journey. Yes.

Bawa gwa t'ong mûaan mûaan yi. Mhm.

You go to be away (for) how many months? (He) said, he will go to be away (for) four months.

Goe mûaan de-goe shin t'aar kong? Yin / t'ong ji mûaan de-goe shin t'aar f'er.

Four months, right? Yes.

T'aar f'er e? Mh.

Okay, the thing that you will do, the thing that you will do now, (there is nothing to be done), you will only, uh, maybe when you return back (and) enter there, you would go on to think of me also, just like (it is the case) that (I) would go on to think of you here.

When he moves around with the ring at his hand, when he looks at (it), he would see the ring, (and) he would remember him.

D'a ji lang goe ngoegan hok ns'a ji d'a ji b'ûen / t'ong ji na ngoegan hok / t'ong ji k'oerek gwa.

Okay, (it is not the case that) he wants to move around with the ring at his hand.

To / zem me de-goe lang goe ngoegan ns'a muk ba.

(He) wants (that) when (he) had seized the ring, (he) would go and throw (it) away (at) some place.

Zem la b'aam ngoegan hok t'ong mûaan goe-goe lyak ndoe pe.

Or maybe when (it is the place) where (he) returns home, (he) would return home (and) talk here (and) say (that) the ring got lost.

Ko la boewa ma t'ong wa doe k'wal yin ngoegan hok paap.

(****), maybe (it would) be better (if he) would take his thing (and) sold (it), so that (he) gets money (from it and) lies (the money) in his pocket (and he) would drink his beer with it.

D'a ji b'ûen a ngoegan / ji k'oerek gwa. D'a ji b'ûen ngoegan / ji k'oerek gwa. Ko-mb'it goenang / d'a ji b'ûen / d'a ji mang ngoegan de b'ûet ns'a ji / t'ong ji k'oerek gwa.

The friend said, oho, okay, the thing that he would do, (there remains) just one (thing).

Mûai yin oho / to / bi goet'ong shin gwa / ni toe goeme kûût.

(He) said, when he goes, when he wants to remember him, he should look at his hand, when he sees (that) the ring is not there, (then) he would remember that Nuhu, he, he, Nuhu, he refused to give him the ring to go (for) a journey with it.

Yin / gwa la mûaan / gwa la zem de-goe k'oerek ji gwa goe b'ûen s'a gwa / gwa d'a na ngoegan wan d'i gwa t'ong k'oerek / goepe Nuhu ji / ji Nuhu / ji nem gwa goe ngoegan de-goe mûaan mûaan nni.

Okay, you see, right? The monkey has really seen you. When you think (that) you have seen the monkey, okay, you see (that) the monkey is ready (for you and) surpasses everybody else (i.e., the monkey is cleverer than anybody else).
