Musu

My folktale is being told, (it) returned home (and) caught the cat and the leopard.

Tamtis noe t'at toet'at / wa ya musu / ndoe kung.

The cat and the leopard, in the past, they sat in one place (together).

Musu / ndoe kung / mûep dok t'wot a mpe goe goeme.

The cat, when (it) did a little thing, (it) rose (and it) entered into the middle of town.

Musu / la shin bi le / yool / ru dakd'ûe lu.

The leopard said, he, he is stronger, that he would go into the middle of town, because he is big, he is stonger.

Kung / yin ji / ji ma goe k'oom / goepe t'ong ji ru dakd'ûe lu / nyegoepe / ji f'yer / ji ma goe k'oom.

The cat talked (that) he (would) not go out.

Musu / k'wal / ba ji p'et.

He (should) not go into the middle of town, right?

Ji ru dakd'ûe lu ba a?

They wouldn't know him because he, he is a small one, he is a small one.

Mûep t'ong man / goe ni ba / nyegoepe / ji / ji a goekyoklok / ni a goekyoklok.

They would never know him (to be) amongst the bush animals.

When he entered into the middle of town, when he returned into the bush, so the leopard returned (and) beat him here, (he) beat him, (he) beat him indeed, making (him) nearly die.

Goeru muk dakd'ûe lu / goeba muk / ns'et / kung / ba yi doe / dere ni / dal ni dal ni nk'en goe muut.

(He) beat him very much indeed, making (him) nearly die.

B'ûap ni p'uur / nk'en goe muut.

So the cat had barely risen, (he) ran, (he) entered into the middle of town.

T'ekgoed'i musu yool yi / su / ru dakd'ûe lu.

(This is) the thing that makes (it that) the cat is never lying in the bush.

A bi goesa toe musu d'e nt'o yi ns'et ba.

And the leopard talked, he is telling his reason, because they resemble each other with the leopard.

Kuma kung k'wal / ni / d'e toe t'ong t'em goede ji / nyegoepe mûep p'ûat shak ndoe kung.

They resemble each other with the leopard.

Mûep p'ûat shak ndoe kung.

(This is) the thing that makes (it that) the leopard isn't entering into the middle of town.

A bi goesa toe / kung d'e nru yi dakd'ûe lu ba.

(He) said the cat, in the past, told his reason.

When you see this reason, (it is) how the leopard is.

When you see the reason, the hand and the leg and the tail and this walk, (this is) how the leopard is.

La gu na goede / s'a ndoe sh'e ndoe dang ndoe mûaan nnoe / a boed'e kung toe.

(This is) the thing that made (it so that) the leopard, in the past, chased the cat away (and it) returned home (and) sat in the middle of town.

A bi goesa toe / kung dok shyen musu yi wa t'ong dakd'ûe lu.

They, their mouths are not returning the same (i.e., they are not seeing face to face with each other).

Mûep / pûe mûep d'e nyok yi goeme ba.

Because, everyday, (there is) quarrel between them.
